Uncooked Caramello Cake

I dont recall when I first made this slice or where I got the recipe from but I do recall making it lots when I was at High school.  I don’t remember it being so sweet back then, but it is still a nice easy treat to make on occasions or as a plate to take and share. The best biscuits to use for this are Griffins malt Biscuits as they have a distinctive flavour and texture that adds to this recipe.

Griffins Malt Biscuits
  • 50 gms Brown Sugar
  • 100 gms Butter
  • ¼tin Sweetened Condensed milk
  • 1 Table spoon Golden Syrup
  1. Melt together and boil over low heat for 5 minutes. Stir all the time.
  2. Add –
  • 1 Packet malt biscuits – crushed well
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla essence
  • ½ Cup Sultanas
  1. Mix well and press into a flat tin
  2. Set in the fridge
Remember this is sweet so don’t ice it unless you want a sugar rush – cut into small squares.
