Outback Jacks restores my faith in dining out

Just had a lovely meal at Outback Jacks, Browns Plains, Brisbane. Yummy glass (or 2) of Chardonnay for me, Rob had a Ginger beer and Dianne had a very large Caramel Milkshake.

We started with a plate of Bush Pepper Calamari to share – tender, salty, hint of lime…deep fried, on fancy lettuce with awesome aioli followed closely by our mains; Jacks Rump A-Lump, Angus Porterhouse and a Chicken Neptune.  There is nothing whizz bang or pretentious about the food here but its on time, tastes good, piping hot and there’s plenty of it.

All three plates licked clean – except for my humongous baked potato – I was actually saving room for a dessert.

Sadly we were not offered a dessert so had to pop across the road to Baskins.

I would give Outback Jacks a 9/10 and Rose’s smile deserves a 10/10.

WARNING – you need to book if you really want to eat here as they are very busy
